IMSC Hamilton Spring Update!

Imagining My Sustainable City Hamilton is well underway! No.9 has been very busy over the past few weeks with three back-to-back schools: Allan A. Greenleaf Elementary, Queen Mary Elementary, and Westview Elementary. Westview’s program started today and we’re very excited to see the finished model on Friday, April 17.

Imagining My Sustainable City has given the No.9 the opportunity to learn about Hamilton’s communities, schools, and history. We have been so fortunate to work alongside incredible teachers and volunteers, and we are very thankful for the time and energy they give to the program. We couldn’t do it without you!

We are especially thankful for the students we have met through IMSC, and we leave every class feeling amazed by the incredible personalities we have encountered. Watching a class work together throughout the four days to achieve a common goal is very empowering, and the final results are a reflection of the students’ creativity, effort, and imagination.

No.9 is looking forward to our two final schools for the 2014/2015 year: Adelaide Hoodless Elementary and Hess Street Elementary. We are currently working on the logistics of the Imagining My Sustainable City Opening Exhibition, and more details about the location and date will follow shortly.

No.9 is also working with the HWDSB to select five more schools to participate in IMSC between September and December 2015. It is our hope that every Grade 7 class in the Hamilton area will be able to experience this program, and we are very excited that IMSC has been such a success to date!
